Just Because - Dual Culture - Post 2

“Just because it’s the simple things in life that often make the mundane magical, even momentous.”

Because we stumbled upon this festive place during an impromptu breakfast date. Because discovering fresh authentic Mexican grub and walls splashed with cheerful memorabilia was a huge win. Because my husband, who is Mexican-American, loves good food and this place screams Mexican-American with it’s dual culture decor. So, we enjoyed some extra spicy chilaquiles con huevos during a conversationless date, since my mouth was on fire and we were completely distracted by the compelling artifacts.

Because yes this month, I actually…

  1. …cooked hot dogs for Easter Sunday and served them with a side of chips! My family was ecstatic! Seriously. We have no tradition for that day, neither with family nor friends.

  2. …substituted Kindergarten and 1st grade back to back 2 days in a row in a mask all day. I have mad respect for all those continuing to work while wearing a mask for their entire shift.
