Because my little boy was making long shadows and I was soaking him up. Because this is his last year before he becomes a teenager. Because he is my last one, my baby, and will soon fit into that shadow. Dissected cow hearts with my son and a homeschool lab partner. Squeamish students make for a brave teacher/mom, who cut open both hearts.
Because February was a slump month to me, always is, and it marked the 12th month of shutdowns, this emerging Spring feels extra light and airy bringing fresh promises of hope and normalcy.
