Just Because - Long Shadows - Post 1

“Just because it’s the simple things in life that often make the mundane magical, even momentous.”

Because my little boy was making long shadows and I was soaking him up. Because this is his last year before he becomes a teenager. Because he is my last one, my baby, and will soon fit into that shadow. So I relish in the moments we share, the small things he does, because his shadows may always be long but he won’t be little for much longer.

Because yes, I actually…

  1. Applied for a full-time job this week. I haven’t worked full time in 25 years… wait… maybe never!

  2. Launched this website despite my better judgement and incomplete pages. Faith over fear.

  3. Dissected cow hearts with my son and a homeschool lab partner. Squeamish students make for a brave teacher/mom, who cut open both hearts.

Because February was a slump month to me, always is, and it marked the 12th month of shutdowns, this emerging Spring feels extra light and airy bringing fresh promises of hope and normalcy.
